Online Supervision with Karen
The supervisory space I aim to provide is one where exploration and creativity facilitates the process to celebrate the successes, to explore the challenges, and to bring into awareness the blocks in our work with clients.
I work with trainee supervisees, therapists who have recently qualified or are several years post training and more experienced therapists who bring over 20 years of experience into the supervisory space.

Supervision Model
The model of online supervision I use is influenced by Michael Carroll, Inskipp & Proctor’s Functions model and Hawkins & Shohet’s 7-eyed model of supervision. At the heart of how I work is the relationship, a collaborative one between supervisee and supervisor. I see supervision as a restorative, regenerative and relational process.

In my work with supervisees, I enjoy learning and discovering what we each bring to the supervisory space through four influences: difference and diversity, cultural, familial, and social norms.
At the heart of how I work as a counsellor and supervisor is Gestalt Therapy, integrating aspects of other models that compliment and sit alongside my core modality.

Aimed At You
Supervision is a place where there is time and space for you to discuss your professional development, further training opportunities, and support when life outside of work is difficult.
Supervision needs to find the space for you as a therapist, a person outside the therapy space, and balanced with bringing your client work.

My Experience
I work with counsellors/therapists, trainee supervisors, and offer support and/or clinical supervision to staff in education and the NHS.

I also offer one off supervision to cover regular supervisor holiday or short term cover for regular
supervisor ill-health. Many supervisees come to work with me to experience Gestalt Therapy and I’ve found we learn from each other, gaining insight into client work from different approaches.
